    Hello, Locals! Here is some new information regarding one of Chicago’s popular designers, Shernett Swaby. Looking forward to the expanded shop coming soon! It’s always so exciting to see locals making it work! Swaby is growing and making big changes. We are in  the process of separating our production  space from our retail store. Our new production space  is now located at 2459 W. Augusta Blvd. It is a beautiful 1,600 sqft space where Shernett Swaby designs and creates  her collections. In 6 months our new SWABY retail store will be open in the gold coast area. During the next 6 months please feel free to call 312-533-1745to book an appointment to shop at our production space at anytime,until the grand opening of our new gold coast store.

    The looks in the Alexander McQueen spring 2012 ad campaign are just as hauntingly beautiful as they were coming down the runway.  The images shot by Davis Sims feature an iridescently backlit Zuzanna Bijoch complete with lace headcoverings.

    Fashion Focus Chicago

    Welcome, Locals!

    Fashion Focus Chicago is a celebration of Chicago’s thriving fashion industry now in it’s seventh year. The weeks events will run from Monday, October 17 through Sunday, October 23 and starting tonight with the first of four runway shows in Millennium Park. Fashion Focus Chicago shows and events will feature some of the city’s top designers at fun functions at various locations around the city, including shopping events and industry seminars. The week’s activities are coordinated and directed by the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture in partnership with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

    What better way to kick off Fashion’s Night Out than with the grand opening of Topshop’s flagship Chicago store? This morning at 10:30 am, Topshop and Topman on the Magnificant Mile officially opened to throngs of eager shoppers and fashionistas. The day began with an outdoor fashion show and goodie bags for all in attendance with a free tote and a gift card. Upon entering the marvelous shop that consists of three floors, the uber-cool fashions that ooze sexiness are a welcome treat! 

    With many 1970’s inspired looks this fall, Topshop has all the bases covered. From faux fur sleeveless vests to gorgeous flowing pantsuits, there is something here for everyone. Make-overs are also available for shoppers featuring Topshop’s make-up line called “Smoke and Mirrors”. This also follows the trend of early 1970’s high glamour make-up. The staff of my favorite salon, Kelly Cardenas, will be in store all week for complimentary make-overs.
